Dr. Pande’s worked at CCMB for 32 years and he superannuated from there in January 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. from Cancer Research Institute, Mumbai in 1981 and had earlier education at Delhi University. In CCMB Dr. Pande’s lab studied the interaction of integrins with the cell matrix molecules, the role of extracellular matrix in determining the differentiation of stem cells and making new biomaterials for applications in the field of orthobiologicals. Dr. Pande is an expert in developing GMP facilities for stem cell research and biosafety level 3 and 4 labs - he has worked as an expert on these subjects in several government appointed committees. Dr. Pande has guided 6 Ph.D. students and about 15 Masters Project students; he has published 65 research papers and has 3 patents. in 2015 he established startup company on bone biomaterials called Ortho Regenics Private Limited which is incubating in IIT Kanpur.
